The Boston Molasses Disaster of 1919

On a blustery afternoon in that fateful year, disaster struck Boston. A massive reservoir filled with sticky, sweet molasses gave way sending a wall of of the thick liquid flowing through the streets. The force was catastrophic, flattening buildings and trapping citizens in a treacly soup. Scores of people were killed, and many more were wounded.
